Lovers Eye Bolo Tie

Solo Project

Oil Paint on wood, Leather, Satin Cord, Broken Pendant, Steel Aglets

Bolo tie made in the fashion of late 18th century “lovers eye” jewelry fad. This sensation focused around having a small painting of your secret lovers’ (or that of a passed partner) eye (sometimes lips) to wear most commonly as a brooch, but also commonly as necklaces, rings, bracelets, and hair sticks.
A bizarre, beautiful, and slightly macabre tradition that should make a comeback.
