OSU Open Road Class Highlights
Week-Long Fieldtrip Documentation
Highlights from the OSU photography departments Open Road class which takes a week-long road trip around the Pacific coast spanning Oregon and California. The class’s focus was to document the uniquely Americana phenomenon of long road trips, and explore Americana as a culture. We spent one week during spring break meeting new people, taking their pictures, and photographing our journey.

Modern Women
Darkroom Photography Experimentation
Exploration of 35mm film photography combined with the stylization of historic oil paintings to question the role of female models in art under the lens of feminist theory of the 1990’s; exploring the concept of female joy being inherently revolutionary in art as well as in everyday life. The goal was to pose real women as famous oil paintings, largely boroque, and take a series of photos showing the shift from pacificity, to confronting the viewer, eyes first, to finally falling into overwhelming joy. In combination, these are meant to bring a vibrant and radiant life to the objectified female model throughout history and force the viewer humanize them internally.

A Child’s Garden Of Dreams
OSU Winds Concert Collaboration
These images were created to be used by the OSU orchestra during their production of David Maslanka’s “A Child’s Garden of Dreams”, based off of Carl Jung’s work. Specifically, my images depicting a young fairy are meant to represent Movement V of the production: “An ascent into heaven where pagan dances are being celebrated; and a descent into hell where angels are doing good deeds”. Taking inspiration from Celtic paganism, borrowing some images of spray painted foam in a box from my classmate, Sam Parrott, and utilizing local public park artworks meant for children to climb on, I imagined a scene in which the protagonist of the composition finds herself in a kind of surrealist hell.
